Untrue - otherwise 90% of the people who draft legal texts (laws, contracts, treaties etc) wouldn't use MS Word.

MS Word has featured style inheritance in some form ever since the group of former Parc Place employees were hired by Paul Allen to reverse engineer the Xerox Bravo office applications to create MS Word 1.0 etc for MS-DOS and Xenix in the early 1980s.
