The following was my Oasis 3:

copy 'extensions' and 'mrpackages' folders
from C:\Downloads\kindle\kual-mrinstaller-1.7.N-r18982.tar\
to E:\

copy Update_KUALBooklet_e3deabf_install.bin
from C:\Downloads\kindle\KUAL-e3deabf.tar\
to E:\mrpackages

Safely eject the Kindle

At the Home screen, search box enter ";log mrpi" to MRPI to install KUAL

wait

KUAL book appeared

Note: When I do hack/JB things, I always write down everything "exactly" what I did, so that when something went wrong, I can backtrack and try something different.
