I've come to brag.
It's 1/6 of the way into the year and I haven't bought any books in 2023.
I seem (knock wood) to have lost my book acquisition lust. The books I already have are alluring and I've been able to find most new books I'm interested in on OverDrive. The irony is that I've got scads of credit sitting in my Kobo account because of gc promotions, so in effect anything I bought would be prepaid. Even that hasn't pushed me over the edge.
I'm sure this is temporary; I had an overall abstemious year in 2017 and fell off the wagon in subsequent years, but I'm enjoying it right now. One thing I've noticed in the past is that buying books leads to more buying of books and that the opposite also is true. I've got out of the habit. For now, at any rate.
