I too watched 'Beyond Paradise' (the DIP spin off series) and was pleasantly surprised. I always had Kris Marshall down as a 'one note' actor who was the same in everything, but his personality seemed to carry it off. Had reservations about Sally Breton as his partner though, she always seems very stilted to me,almost wooden, and yet her legions of fans (mainly from 'Not Going Out') seem to think her wonderful. Each to their own. Could have done without the cosy 'family' scenes too, even though I love Barbara Flynn!
