What we're trying to convey is that in Android vocab we're already running as root with none of the beyond idiotic artificial limitations like 15 or fewer volume levels in build.prop.
Indeed it's not necessarily impossible that a custom kernel could provide more but it's a very different scenario. On Android you're normally unlocking that which we already have access to.
