As an experiment, in Preferences => Conversion => Output Options => azw3 output, try checking the Use author sort for author checkbox. Try sending a couple of books and see if the author name comes out the right way around. If so, go to done. If not, convert a couple of azw3 ebooks to azw3 and send them to your Kindle and see if the author names come out the right way around.
