I have a Kindle Oasis that has hundreds of visible covers for books that aren't actually there - they're expired library loans (my husband and I share an Amazon account and together get several hundred eBook library loans a year). Nothing about the book cover signals that it's a loan, let alone an expired loan. This means that I have hundreds of books that if I click on them, they just say "this is an expired loan, would you like to purchase?"
I'd like to bulk delete ALL of these covers from these expired books, however there seems no way to do this. I can select a single cover, click the three dots and choose "Return to Library" and that will remove the cover image. This is maddening as the book WAS already returned (it happens naturally, the loan expires and the library pulls it off). Having to choose "Return to Library" for every single book doesn't even make sense. How can I return something that's expired and already gone?
The problem is, I can't figure out how to do this en masse.
If I hook the Kindle up to Calibre, those old expired books don't show up at all, so I can't bulk select/delete.
If I go to my Kindle Content Manager, they don't show up there, either.
The only place they're visible is on my Kindle or on the Kindle app on my iPad, and in both places, I only seem able to delete them by doing "Return to Library" individually. If I set out to do this, it would take...geez I can't even imagine.
Does anyone have a solution to this? You would have my unending thanks.
