Strongly disagree! Confident? Maybe. Opiniated? Nah... My experience is that intelligent people are more open to different views and more humble about their own than "the average". Of course there is a HUGE variety among both groups and maybe the large number of highly intelligent people I've had a lot to do with are not representative at all. But in my book (no pun intended) jumping on other people's words/views/opinions and always "being right" is not a sign of high intelligence. It's a sign of not growing up. (Remember when you were 18 and knew it all? )
