Configuration was pretty simple. Hit the configure button. Hit the Kindle button and enter the serial nos. Also restarted Calibre just to make sure it was loading the latest. Confirmed that my plugin is up to date.

Don't know what an Oasis is. I keep up with my mom's paperwhite but that's about the only Kindle in use in our family (Samsung Tablet is my preference)
The Kindle Oasis I'm using for this is a Kindle model newer than your 7th gen Paperwhite, released in 2017. And eink firmware versions play no role whatsoever in DRM removal if you're using Download & Transfer. I'm guessing you've misunderstood something. How exactly are you downloading those books?
