I open mine up and read it everywhere possible. Its amazing how getting stopped by a train used to bother me. Not so much anymore.
I have yet to see anyone else reading with one. I just can't imagine not having it. I swear if it broke today I would be scraping up money from somewhere to run out and buy another one. Actually, last night I picked it up off the cabinet that I keep it on and as I was walking to my chair it slipped out of my hand. I thought I was going to have a heart attack! Well, it just kind of slid down my body and I caught it before it hit the ground. Made me realize even more that I need to get a case.

Glad you caught it!! Mine actually has a damaged corner from where the previous owner dropped it - On Sony's, the plastic endcap tends to push up into the case when it's dropped, causing the end to bulge out until you free it up. Aesthetic damage only once you get things back in place.
I highly recommend a case though! I have an M-Edge case in mocha (such soft smooth leather.....), and am waiting for the Oberon Design cases to become available.
When carrying my reader in my purse (a daily event for me) I have it in the M-Edge case, and then I have a nylon shell case that has a velcro flap closure that the M-Edge case slides neatly into. This provides additional protection for the open edges, as well as preventing general purse clutter from marring the leather on the M-Edge case (which I ocassionally find myself petting - the mocha case does have such lovely leather - the black and the saddle cases my parents have are pebbled leather, which I don't like as much)
Sooooo looking forward to an Oberon case!!
