I use the sync features so I can read on all of my devices so wouldn't be looking to transfer via USB.
I've just had a look on the Amazon forums and there are a couple of posts on there about this same issue.
I'll check back here and on the Amazon forums in case someone comes up with a solution.
Strange one though especially as there's not been any firmware updates. I presume amazon are doing something at their end when it converts the files?
