I would guess that it is going to be quite a while before I will not be able to crack the DRM on my reading device for stuff that I want to read. Not being able read Amazon KU titles wouldn't bother me much, and everything else I'll be able to purchase from other vendors.
In the event that I am unable to read how I want with newer purchases, I can start reading more public domain and rereading older purchases.
Heck, I might even get a tablet and go exclusively to reading library books.
For myself, I can't see myself pre-purchasing ebooks for some future date when I will not be able to crack DRM.
