Just finished "The White Rabbit" by Bruce Marshall - the true story of the wartime secret agent
F. F. E. Yeo-Thomas. A very interesting read. Published in 1952, Marshall can't help himself adopting a right-wing jingoistic attitude that is partly laughable, and partly embarrassing today; and discredits his subject whom he imbues with a similar worldview. The story itself is gripping, and shows what extraordinary circumstances many people found themselves in - and what extraordinary courage they needed to see them through.
Now reading 'The Parliament House' by Edward Marston - a Restoration period murder mystery. Good so far.
Both pbooks.
