Calibre creates a new temporary folder with a randomized name each session. It's meant to clean them up afterwards but any number of things can result in that failing. You can safely delete them.
I use
CALIBRE_TEMP_DIR environment var to redirect them to a secondary drive (partly reducing wear on my SSD, partly to make it easier to find).
