From what I have read hear the current Kobo replacements (Libra 2 and Sage) both have their issues, whereas my simple Aura One just works.
The screens on the newer models may well be superior, but my Aura never crashes (possibly because I never update the firmware). I always side-load books so there is never a reason to connect it to the Kobo app, just connect to my PC and drag the books across.
Even if I have to end up charging it every other day I can't see myself wanting to replace it. I just want a simple ereader without all the bells-and-whistles of page turn buttons, rotating screens etc., and that does not seem to be available from Kobo any more.

I hear you. (Or rather, I read you.)
I do wish, however, that my
Oreo One/Aura One had better touch control when selecting something - as in typing something.
My
Libra/Libre/Libro/Frank reader is spot on. One must, however, exercise caution and not use it as a substitute for a place mat, especially when eating toast for breakfast.
