Never seen this on Sage or other Kobo.
Never "sidedloaded" fonts. Any fonts referenced by the ebook are always embedded and sub-setted using Calibre.
Are you putting font references to sideloaded fonts? One reason to never do this is that it's only going to work for your own kobo. I might share on edited PD ebooks to more than ten other people with a mix of Kobo & kindle models.
We make ebooks too and the embedded fonts will work on any Kindle using azw3 or KFX (Aa menu/theme allows Publisher), any epub reader using ADE and better epub apps on iOS and Android. Very many ereader models and apps have no facility for extra fonts to be added outside the ebook file.
