Any of the 1.8v or 3.3v adapters should work, you can get away with connecting only the RX/TX wires if your Kindle is plugged into the same PC via USB (common ground). The whole "3.3v serial will fry your device" is BS in my opinion, you'll be fine as long as you don't connect the voltage output of the serial adapter to anything.
