If you like Science Fiction/ Urban Fantasy I can recommend Michael Anderle. You start off with the Kurtherian Gambit Series, and then that branches out with various other authors in collaboration. People like Craig Martelle, and many others. There are hundreds of books to choose from, and a facebook page with reading lists etc.
