the telecom people have no scruples.

there is a way to hide your telephone number when you call someone, so that if they have caller id they can't see who you are. i'm not sure exactly how it works, whether this is a paid service or not, but the point is the telecom does make this service available.

but now they have a new service : "Stop Secret, to protect yourself from anonymous calls ! 'I know who is calling me, even if the the caller's number is secret.'"

so, you can pay them a monthly fee for a service whose only purpose is to counteract another service they provide, effectively rendering it useless to the people who use it.

something about this situation just seems wrong to me...
