Killers of a Certain Age sounds like a pretty different kind of thing for Deanna Raybourn, who two main series are historicals. But I've liked her Lady Julia Grey series a lot, and the premise sounds fun, and the price is right (£0.99 at Kindle UK), so I think I'll give this one a try...
