Tey, Josephine: A Shilling for Candles (1936); v1, 2 Feb 2002

An Inspector Grant detective case. Josephine Tey was one of the psuedonyms of Scottish author Elizabeth MacKintosh (1896-1952), who also wrote as Gordon Daviot.

The story hinges on an odd phrase in a will; one heir is left just "a shilling for candles".
