Why are you entitled to have an ebook just because you own the pbook? The rights’ holders rights extend to format and they’re entitled not to make a digital copy available. Owning the pbook makes no difference in this scenario to not owning the pbook. The only moral action in this case is to use your own pbook to create an ebook. It seems you’re claiming a gray (American spelling) area to justify hanging onto your pbook and having an ebook just the same.
