Laziness, mostly. The Amazon sales are usually 1-day sales, so I don't wanna have to wrestle with Kobo support reps to get it done day-of, only to have them not look at the ticket until e.g. the next day, at which point the price as reverted. To boot, ever since Google updated their app billing policy on Android, all Kobo purchases that I make on my phone go through Google Pay instead of Kobo's store, so none of the promo codes or gift card balances can be applied that way. I'd have to login through a browser to make it work.

But I suppose I'll suck it up and give it a try next time. There were a bunch of Vintage Classics/Richard Pevear translations of Dostoevsky works on sale a couple weeks back: it looks so out-of-place in my collection that 3/4 of them were direct from Kobo and that one oddball is a Kindle convert.
