Question Rent Library Books on Pocketbook Era?

Hey there, I recently purchased a Pocketbook Era to replace my old Kindle Keyboard and I'm awaiting for it in the mail. I'm interested mostly in classic literature. The most modern my books ever got were the LOTR series. Otherwise I'm reading books which would be easily found on Project Gutenberg.

However, my wife jumped on the fact that I purchased a new e-reader and wants to borrow books from the local library using Hoopla, Overdrive, or eBranch2Go. Specifically Undeniably Yours by Becky Wade... but I'm sure she'll want to read another one after she has this one completed in a day or two.

I'm thrown for a loop and I didn't even think of this before purchasing my Pocketbook. Yes, I don't care about Christian woman romance novels, but the ability to borrow any book from the library intrigues me... and it's stressing me out trying to figure out how to do this with a Pocketbook.

I tried borrowing her book online through eBranch2Go, downloading the acsm file, uploading to the Pocketbook cloud, then opening the book using the pocketbook app on my phone. However, it will not open using the Pocketbook App. She suggests the Pocketbook browser (when it comes in the mail) should be able to access Hoopla for her just like a computer would but I'm doubtful it'd be a streamlined process.

Would this method be successful on my Pocketbook Era? Is there a simplier way of doing this? Or do I need to look at a different type of ereader (Kobo, Boox, etc) Any suggestions to borrow books from an online or local library to do this I would appreciate it.

For context I'm located in the US. Thank you.
