This has been on sale for $3 a couple times and was the Tor.com book of the month in May 2020, so check your libraries before purchasing.

It's a good book too. I haven't read the following 3 yet but I've heard great things about them too. Book 5 should release near the end of 2024 and it's supposed to be the conclusion of the first story arc, so I'm waiting till we are closer before I continue.
That said, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the earlier books in the series being given away as freebies again sometime next year. They gave away the first 3 Wax and Wayne books last year before the release of the last one.
