In Windows 7 IE will be removable component. You can't do that in XP or Vista. I already posted this above.

However, the rendering engine will still be there as many features in windows use it... the desktop and the Explorer window. You are basically only removing the chrome and the start up icons and such. Once again, I am pretty sure this is a concession to the EU's commission's incompetent policies to protect companies rather than the consumer. See the Windows "N" version.

I think Opera is one of the big complainers of IE being shipped with Windows. Although Safari is shipped with Mac and Firefox with Ubuntu but no one complains about that.
