I've started removing DRM from library books, but
only for the purpose of
a) being able to use KoboTouchExtended to load it onto my device;
b) Running the page count plugin on the metadata entry.
I delete the ePub from Calibre once it's on the device (leaving behind a book record with a dummy OVERDRIVE file), and from the device once I'm done reading.
