There was a discussion somewhere on here about translators getting equal credit on a book cover with the author. It's not really a thing here in the US to follow a translator, but I guess it is in some places.

Anyway, if there were to be 'superstar' translators of books to English, Pevear and Volokhonsky would be it (for Russian works anyway). Their spate of translations has brought new attention to several old books. I have their editions of War and Peace, Doctor Zhivago, The Brothers Karamazov and now Anna Karenina.
