God, now I'm stressed out that I went and stupidly spent money on a Kindle Kids Edition 2019 (cheapest I could find at retail in my country) and I'll still end up with KFX files even via the USB transfer method.
Oh well, I'll see when the device actually gets here. An older, second-hand Kindle is ridiculously hard to find here -- we're poor enough that the second-hand market for niche devices is
tiny and all the older Kindles are either completely broken or have a high likelihood of being blacklisted.
