These early stories by Ernest Favenc, 19th C. Australian explorer, historian, novelist, short story writer and poet, where first published in the weekly "Bulletin" magazine, and then collected into this volume in 1893, published by Bulletin Publishing. In 1894 a different edition was published in the London, with some stories omitted, and two new stories added, entitled "Tales of the Austral Tropics". A merged version of the two editions can be found at Project Gutenberg Australia. I have distenangled the merged version into the two original titles. The cover of this book is made by me as I can find no original cover.
