I read outside sometimes, but in Tennesee you kind of have to pick your moments. Spring and fall, if the weather is nice, it's nice to be outside. In the summer it's too hot and humid and in the winter it rains a lot.
On the other hand, I have been known to put my Kindle in a zip-loc bag and go for a walk in the rain, reading all the way :-)
