trying to remove all fonts from all epub files at once
I have hundreds of epub files in my device from which I want to remove all embedded fonts. It's mostly about size issue that I want to take care of to avoid taking too much space in my storage. (subset isn't too useful in my language environment)
And I have a few questions in the process of doing this.
1. Can I simply do this using calibre or other editing tools? Step by step guide would be so much appreciated. It's even better if I can prevent calibre from making a copy of the book, bypassing the library. I don't use calibre as my ebook manager or viewer, but just want to batch the edit process.
2. Is there a difference between unmanifesting fonts that are linked to epub document and just simply renaming epub to zip and removing fonts folder inside, in terms of stability or performance(like loading speed or anything, due to the ebook viewer doing more jobs of locating the font files that are not there)
3. If all the embedded fonts are gone and default viewer font is used, are there unexpected changes like one image split in two pages or graph dislocation for the poorly created epubs? I want to know how epub document usually handles this kind of problem.
Thank you!
