+1 for Apple messing it up.
I've just installed Monterey and suddenly Calibre crashes when I edit a book first time (though OK second time??).
I keep reporting it and no doubt they may fix it eventually.
They did an update to Safari that totally messed up one of the functions I use, then quietly fixed it a couple of weeks later.
