You can check if your E-Books have the tags properly implemented by opening the epub with something like 7zip. In the file "content.opf", which you can open with a standard text program like notepad or anything else, you should find

Code:

<meta name="calibre:series" content="YOUR SERIES"/>

and propably something similar for genres.

Just as a check up, that everything is ok with the files.
