@BanditoB, how many books in your library? even downloading a couple of hundred can tie up a Kindle for a number of hours while it creates index. Maybe your issue with deleting Notebooks is related.
If you have iOS or Android device you can view Notebooks with the Kindle app. I don't know if the apps let you delete anything (I did ask upthread but nobody has answered yet).
