I took allergy shots for years when I was a kid. As long as I stay away from cats (and a few other things), I'm good to go.

Except for the cats on my car, they are pretty easy to avoid. My mother has a cat (which she is allergic to as well) but it lives outside on her ranchette (they have cows and cat keeps the mice and snakes away), so that's not a problem for me. Other than that, there are no close people in my life with cats.

Occasionally, because I work in the film industry, I have to shoot in a house where the owners have cats, so I have to use my inhaler but that doesn't happen too often.
