I don't disagree with the main thrust of your point. But Amazon's wishlist is lacking. A few simple improvements would make it better.
Like send an email when an item on your wishlist goes on sale. GoodOldGames does that and I have bought many games I otherwise would still be thinking about because the price was right. That is basically ereaderIQ. Seems like it would be easy enough to implement it. I have some shoes on my wishlist that fluctuate in price very often (some Nautica Crocs knockoffs, which tells you about my fashion sense). They have already gone down to a price where I would buy them, but I missed it.
If a prerelease book is on your wishlist, send an email when the book is available for purchase rather than preorder.
