Another update, I managed to make the touchscreen work again for a few clicks, enough to me to click on the factory reset option.
And as it did, now when it comes to choose the language I want the device in, surprise, surprise...the touchscreen no longer accepts any input.
The funny thing is, that hadn't even crossed my mind...
