There are five kinds of notes on the Sage.
Text annotations of eBooks can be exported by adding to the config file so the book context menu has Export. But Calibre & Kobo Utilities is free (Mac Liinux, Windows) and if you have more than 100 ebooks very important.

Basic Notebooks and Advanced Notebooks have multiple on device export options and even the Nebo files can be copied via USB.

Annotation/Scribing/drawing on a PDF with Stylus. Seems to add a layer to PDF. Just copy PDF.

Then there are StickyNote/Post-it style notes made by stylus on an eBook without text conversion. I don't see the point of those so never investigated how to copy them off.
