I have installed the Goodreads plug-in in order to increase the chances of finding a good size and good quality cover, but the final result differ little.

I haven't tried it myself, but I remember there's an option in
Barnes & Noble plugin, that allows scanning a wider range of editions, thus potentially increasing the likelihood of getting a large cover image:
