I moved from XP (and Calibre + LO Writer) to Win7 in 2016. Had used MS Office for 20 years.
Moved entirely to Linux Mint + Mate Desktop in Jan 2017, and Calibre.
I'd used Ubuntu for years in parallel and RedHat from 1998 alongside NT 4.0
Windows since 1991. NT on a server since 1994.

Never any serious issue with LO Writer, or Open Office before it (Linux user since 1998) or Calibre.
