I always have this mental image of an indoor crafts expo crossed with a souk whenever anyone in the Liaden Universe goes into a Trade Hall. They travel around the universe on incomprehensible starships, yet business is conducted basically in a farmer's market with meet-and-greet parties on the side. The contrast is so imaginative and intriguing to me every time I read one of those scenes. It makes me want to be a Trader when I grow up, lol.
