That makes no sense as the pressure sensing ought to be in the pen/stylus with any active digitiser system. It would only affect thickness very slightly even to have system that used a dumb stick stylus like on Nintendo DS or old Palm PDAs or similar.
Both old Bamboo and earlier serial tablet Wacom and current Wacom EMR are pressure sensitive via the pen. I have three Wacom: A USB Bamboo, Lenovo X201 with finger touch and Wacom pen and the reMarkable using Wacom EMR. All are pressure sensitive via the pen.
