Floating Dragon by Peter Straub is $1.99 at Amazon US. I'd highly recommend picking it up. Aside from King, Straub was my favorite horror author. Floating Dragon is maybe overly ambitious, with a sentient(?) chemical fog and an ancient supernatural evil threatening the little town of Hampstead.

Straub admired 'Salem's Lot and the way King involved a whole town in his horror story, so Straub took a crack at it twice, with Ghost Story and Floating Dragon being the results. Both are well worth a horror fan's attention.
