Batteries are not really meant to be user replaceable. So be happy its an option, as the alternative is ~$250 for a new 8" ereader.
Take it to an electronics repair shop if thats an issue for you, just the soldering shouldnt cost too much, and no risk that you screw something up if its your first time soldering.
