The filename/directory structure of the calibre library is by design and will not be changed. You can fork calibre and do whatever you want but please don't waste time by asking that the filename/directory structure used in the calibre library be changed.

You can save to disk or send to device with whatever filename/directory structure you feel like building in the templates. Otherwise, don't peek under the skirts of the calibre library.
