Hi Robert. I bought exactly same BT ring after having read your experience, and it works perfectly with stock reader. The issue is with koreader, as it kills Bluetooth and make it not working even after having left koreader.
I’d like to use this alternative reader as it renders much better full justification.
The last chance is to try Wi-Fi as suggested above.
