The physical buttons work for apps like KOReader and Moon Reader, but don't seem to work at all for a few other apps. It's a problem similar to the one I encountered with the Nook GL 4 a while back. I don't know if root is necessary for this, but I posted the strings for the Leaf 2 at the Github site of the decryptBooxUpdateUpx folks, just in case that comes in handy. What I'd like to do is to be able to use the physical buttons as page turn buttons in a couple of other apps without losing that functionality in NeoReader.

I've glanced at the thread you pointed me to. From what I understand, your framework.jar patch would eliminate delays in how the device responds to button input - which would definitely be a good thing! I don't know if it would allow more apps to make use of the buttons, though.
