I've only seen the critters near my car a couple of times and of course they run away when I get close. I don't think I can every get close enough to spray (spay) them and they are way faster than me. I think they usually visit at night since cars come and go a lot more during the daylight hours.
I have been known to hit the panic button on my car key fob to get the horn to honk and scare them away when I'm walking toward the car (sorry if you think it's evil).
