There must be something in the water, because chronic appendicitis is supposed to be very rare. But I had it last year and the neighbour's son (my age, we grew up together) came over today to tell him his mom is in hospital and was operated on for a burst appendix. She had been having the sweats lately (not as long as I had them) and when she was in the ER they first thought it was a UTI gone septic (with me they thought it was a UTI which had caused a kidney infection).
Luckily she's already feeling better, hopefully her son can get her to take it easy for a while and stop her from lifting heavy things for six weeks. She owns a café and is always picking up supplies and carrying them inside. So I will keep an eye out and help unload when needed.
